My cat brought me a duck egg and it was still alive! I started researching how to take care of it because I'm disabled and home 24/7, and when I candled it I estimated it was around day 9-12! Currently, I think I'm between day 26-29, and the duckling stopped moving maybe two days ago now. I don't have an incubator but I'm using a box with tinfoil, a cup of hot water and a hot water bottle to keep the humidity up! The duck hasn't pipped yet and I can't hear chirping... Is this normal? Should I hold on a few more days or should I assume this poor bubba is a lost cause? I don't want to toss and risk they're alive. Here's a picture I took yesterday while candling, and it hasn't changed today. Any help appreciated!!
okay, i'll try and go a few more days, but if I don't hear anything in a couple of days I'll bury them. I had a feeling they'd died, but I've been holding out because I have no idea what day I'm at, just a vague guess based on the candling I did on the 15th of August (see below) It was moving a lot until maybe two days ago, and I haven't heard or seen it move since then
