Are these eggs fertile??

I recently 2 weeks ago got a new cockerel and he has been standing on the hens which I presume is what normal cocks do to fertilise the eggs and 3 days ago one of my BOs got broody. So I got some of the eggs that were recently layer and popped them under her and it has been 3 days and now and have candled them but I can not see any veins in them though their are some big air sacks in them so I am wondering if the eggs are fertile from the pictures o have below. Also I’m wondering if it is to early to see veins yet due to most places I have found information about this only day with incubators you can see veins on day 3. Thanks for our help

Wait a bit longer before candling them. If they are fertile, you should be able to see development more clearly on days 5-7

So are you saying the more likely case is that due to the eggs being done by a broody, development is not as fast so that is why I can’t see veining? Also is it good theirs a big air sack?

With any chicken egg, veins do not typically become visible until about day 7.

yes. both incubated eggs and eggs under a broody should develop at the same speed.
A big air sac means there is less chance of the chick drowning

Due to her having more eggs under her than we need I decided to crack one open and all I found was white stuff over the egg which wasn’t very big, does this mean it’s not fertile?

Hen and machine incubated eggs develop at the same rate. However remember that day one is counted from the day after you set the eggs.

Then on day 3 it is sometimes possible to see a tiny spider like growth on the yolk if the shell is light coloured. Day 4 is much more reliable to see the spider shaped embryo.

If you crack a fertilised egg on day one, that is the day AFTER your hen started sitting on them, you would see a normal looking egg with a clear white ring on the yolk the size of a very small pea. If you crack it on day two that white circle will have spread bigger and less circular and the yolk will look like it has a small area that is starting to break apart. On day three a fertilised egg has a tiny speck of flesh on the yolk with a few very thin red veins coming out of it like spider legs. If the embryo is dead this will look like a ring of dark red around it. On day four the embryo will look like a tiny blob of flesh with bigger veins.

So if you open an egg and there is nothing but normal yolk at day 2 or beyond, it likely isn't fertile.

Try cracking open one of your recently laid eggs and looking for a small white bullseye on the yolk. You may have to move it around a bit to find it but it will look like this. If you see it, than it is fertilized.
