I often let my chickens roam the yard. I found a nest of eggs in my flower bed. How do I know if they are still good or too old? Should I just throw them out?

Welcome! There's a very old saying "When in doubt, throw it out" and it's very good advice where food items are concerned.
They might be okay, or rotten, or some of each. Why bother? Pitch them and use eggs that you know are fresh. That's what I do when secret nests turn up.

Thank you, that's what my gut was telling me too!

You can place each egg in a bowl of water, if it floats to the top it's bad. If it stays on the bottom it's good....if it's good place in fridge cause it's been wet and the bloom has been washed away

Eggs float because the air cell is bigger, so an older egg. 'Sinkers' might be fresh, or they might be rotten, just still heavy.
As a screening test, not terrible. As truth, not so good every time.
Eggs are cheap, why risk it?
