Are these emu eggs fertile? Hatchalong

Shizzle sticks.

Why do you think the dummy died?
Humidity too low most likely. I can’t find my hygrometer  so I would add some water here and there, but didn’t pay much attention to it as it’s humid in western Washington. The little guy was so sticky. Yolk was completely absorbed though, makes me mad!

I'm sure you will have some good luck with a few. I'm sure you are excited to see what that new bator can do?
Oh yes. So far the humidity gauge is very responsive. Added the water this morning and it went from 27% to 37% quickly. Temperature is holding nicely and is now about 1 degree off.

Emus and chickens will have to be incubated separately though. Oh well.

Ya, I have been looking at the 1502 or the 1500 Sportsman myself for last two years but just haven't pulled the trigger. I hatch over a hundred Heritage turkey poults each spring alone. I have 4 Smaller table top incubators that I incubate and hatch with but mostly get the job done with broody turkey hens. But would be nice to have the sportsman for incubating and use the smaller table tops for hatching.

Broodies make raising chicks so easy. I bet a turkey could incubate an emu egg 🤔

I’ll keep the cheap incubators, but looking forward to seeing results with this cabinet. I think it’s a must have if you hatch enough.

I have a Sportsman Cabinet 1202e incubator/hatcher. My birds hatch out in the bottom just fine. With Emus you might want to take out the bottom incubating tray to give them more room to stand up.
At first, I was worried if I increased the humidity a bit for hatching the incubating eggs would mess up, but they didn't.

Very good information, thank you. I’ll be taking that bottom tray out :)
