How do you tell pullets from roos by their feathers?

These are pullet BRs...in front...see the difference...darker in color, small yellowish combs


This is a pullet SLW...more white and comb is pinkish

How old are they? When you say by their feathers do you mean feather sexing when they are little or the long, pointy hackle and saddle feathers roos get as they mature?

With the hackle and saddle feathers. They are about 8 or 9 weeks

They are not old enough to have saddle/hackle feathers yet...you will be able to see them pretty easily when they do come in...let me see if I can find a good pic to share...

See the long narrow feathers streaming down his neck? Those are his hackle feathers...and the long skinny ones above his tail are his saddle feathers I hope this helps.

OK Thanks, on the pics I posted do you think they are all three roos just by looking at their combs?

I only see two pics and yes, they both look like roos to me. Their combs are bright red for as young as they are.
