I picked up my 8 week old chicks on 3/27 and was told I had 2 Delawares. The first two pictures are of my chicks and the last picture is of one that was at the farm where I got my chicks.

Delaware don't have feathered feet, so you've either got Brahma or mixed babies. Beautiful!!!

Wait a minute! I looked at your pics again and it looks like one of your chicks has feathering and one doesn't. Also, one has white legs (with feathering) and one has yellow. Is that right? Maybe you have one of each?

Yep mixes.. that rooster has feathered legs, but a single comb.. He doesn't have the barring either(Dels supposed to have barring on the tails and hackles).

The chick in second pic will grow up looking like a Delaware.. it has the 'correct' color pattern for Dels but need to be skeptical.. the first chick definitely does not have a Del pattern.

I don't know what color legs Dels are supposed to have- notice the rooster has white, first chick have white legs too while the second has yellow legs.

That said, the rooster is rather handsome and the place looks like it was very well kept..

yes, but that isnt a brahma. Brahmas have pea combs.

you are right...
I too would be concerned that they are mixes (not that anything is wrong with mixes)
