I didn't see a third one anywhere. And duh, I should know by now the peacocks have the beautiful coloring, peahens - boring. except for the white peahens - gorgeous

Pied ladies are very pretty too!

Thanks Queen Misha, I've never seen a pied one before.

I was at the zoo a few weeks ago, and the peafowl and guineas are allowed to free range. I tried to feed a peahen and she looked but wouldn't take anything. Then she was joined by her 5 small kids. I tried feeding her again, and she took a piece and threw it on the ground for the children. She did this several times. When they dispersed, she took a few pieces for herself and ate them. Good mothers are the same everywhere.

Same day sparrows were looking for tidbits under the picnic tables. I noticed every time a female would find a morsel, a male would appear out of nowhere and chase her and take it away. I tried feeding the girls on the sly, but the males end up with the food.
