I got a couple extra males added for warmth to a small order. They are currently being brooded by a broody Brahma who seemed quite happy to adopt the little fellows. Im guessing they are rhode Island red roos.
Here they are today, two weeks old
So what do you think, rhode island reds?

I would have guessed Buff O if you hadn't suggested RiR, but I really don't know for sure.

I vote buff orphington, look just like my little babies did not so many weeks ago

Are their legs and feet very pink (i.e. will be white)? It's tough to tell from your photos. If so, they are likely buff orpingtons. They don't look like RIRs, though. The feathering is definitely buff in color.

I hadn't thought of buff orpingtons
The wing feathers on my buff orpington did not look similar to these guys
This was my buff orpington at the same age as the new chicks, and her wings didn't have any markings

Maybe other orpingtons are different though?
If its any more help, here are some photos of the chicks when they were a little younger

And is there any way to tell apart a new hampshire from a rhode island red?

I'll try to get some better pictures soon

Well, my RIR is darker, and significantly more burnt sienna (brown/red) colored than my NH (more caramel colored). But it also looks a bit like my BOs at that age, too.

Whatever he is, he's cute!

Those look like different chicks

-- much easier to tell the markings on the feathers. Now I would definitely say they were RIR or PR.
