I think,..... still learn'in

Sorry, you have 3 roos and a hen. I know how you feel....when I first started out last year I raised 5 out of 7 roosters and couldn't keep them. It's hard cause you get so attached to them....hope someone nice can take them for you. Chicken sandwiches are not an option here.....

The STOREY's Illustrated Guide to Poultry Breeds says RIR have yellow shanks. But I agree, these are mixed. Possible with New Hampshire Reds. I would say Red sex links but thier tales are black not white.

Got to agree with Fred yet again, looking at the bright yellow legs tells me they are a sexlink/cross of sort. I also agree that its 3 boys based on plumage.

Well looking at the picture those legs on those birds are alot more yellow than my RIRs,theirs are a light yellowish. I also have Cinnamon Queens which is a sexlink bird and their legs mirror the ones in the picture which compared to the RIRs look like neon yellow. Thats why I said its a sexlink or cross of some type

RIR threads here on BYC show outstanding examples of Heritage RIR. The difference is astounding in appearance. That said, even hatchery chicks should resemble the standard. Yellow legs are indeed mandatory to the standard. They should have glossy, dark, dark red bodies and the body should be brick shaped.

Here's a photo of some hatchery RIR pullets I have. Hardly show quality, but at least represent the breed. BTW, her legs are yellow, my camera stinks and doesn't render color well.
