online similar pictures look like Plymouth rocks but need other peoples opinions , are these Plymouth rocks or another breed and how can I sex them ? They are 3 weeks old
I would really appreciate the advice and information

It looks to me like you have 4 barred plymouth rocks. At three weeks old their comb development looks a little advanced at first glance to be pullets. There is one chick in the back that is not the same, I am thinking black sex link or wyandotte? It is tough to tell from that pic. Agree- more pics would be great!

Thank you very much for your replies I’ve taken some more photos of them I think I got most of them but a few kept flying onto my back 😂

That one with the brown chest must have something else in here. No brown in barred rocks.

You can usually sex barred rocks easily because the females have dark legs and darker feathering. It isn't 100%, but pretty accurate. Maybe it is different if these are a mix, though.

With those combs and heavy legs the two barred ones are cockerels. Not sure on the other two though the legs look a bit heavy, at least on one. Three weeks is pretty young to be sure on the sex of chicks but sometimes you can tell.

To me they do not look like pure breed anything. If the two barred cockerels were pure Barred Rock they should be lighter colored because of the two barred genes the boys have. That makes them lighter or more silvery colored than the girls that just have one barred gene. Since they are fairly dark I think they are mixed.

It looks like at least one of the barred ones has some type of puffy feathers on the head, a weak version of the Polish's puffy head. I don't see that on the others. Another indication they may not be pure breeds.

I think you have at least two cockerels, maybe four, and that none are pure breed anything.

Where did you rescue them from? That might give us some clues to work with.
