Are they "besties"?

My Barred Rock named Betty and Australorp named Thing2 seem to be best friends. They where both my first layers. I've seen them wait on each other. I herded my flock back in their run but forgot about Thing2. I realized this a choose to finish getting the others in their run and go back for her. Guess who else realized... Betty! She wouldn't enter and continued to evade me. So I turned back for Thing2 and they both willingly entered. On a separate occasions I've seen them wait on each other while the other laid. Betty was in the nesting box and Thing2 was in the coop with her. They seem to always be together..

Does anyone else see relationships like this between your hens?

Yes, hens frequently bond and form very close friendships with a flock mate. I have a couple pairs like this now as well as a set of three that are extra close.
