Ok. Both of these Buff Orpingtons are supposed to be pullets but I just don’t know. They are exactly the same age but look different. 7 1/2 weeks old. They are kept together and eat the same food. Neither one of them is being picked on in their small flock. So I am wondering, do I have a Rooster?

Thanks for your input!

Goldie #1 Notice she has a redder comb and wattles. The picture isn't perfectly clear but I hope you get the idea.

Here is a body shot:

Goldie # 2 No red on her comb or wattles. Also her feather development is behind Goldie #1

Yes, both of their names are Goldie. The kids and I thought it would be hard to tell them apart when they got older so we just gave them the same name.

Ignore the sloppy chicken wire fence in the background; we don’t have our permanent fence finished yet. They are only in it if we are right there with them… just not a safe fence.

edited to add the age.

I have 2 pullets that are the same age but 1 took a week or two longer to get completely feathered. Just like people, some mature slower then others, even within the same family. I would say that they are both pullets, as they both don't show rooster characteristics, Goldie #2 's just a little bit behind her sister
