Are they curious animals?

Are they curious animals? In a sense that if I put something new in their cage, will they go up and investigate it? Will they explore their enclosure ?
 
I have buttons and they're quite curious. When I put some new plants in their enclosure (since they live on the ground) they started playing around with them, it was very cute.
