New England.. the cold part.
Of the 8 (one disappeared?) eggs under my broody, I candled when I swapped them out for fertile eggs I got in the mail tonight (the P.O. lady called me!), 5 were totally porus and empty, and 3 seemed to be half dark, and I could SEE an air cell in one end. does this mean that they are ALIVE? or just that they were alive at some point? I still can't see any veins though... what do you think?

i found them and her in a garbage can in the snow in my garden 6 days ago... she was definately off and on for at least a week before then... but I just put eggs underneath her today! I assumed that the older eggs, since they were sitting in water, straw and snow for days, were dead, or infertile to begin with. the blob seemed to be almost half the egg, and attached to one side, didn't move when I turned them.. didn't see movement at all..
