All our Buffs but one was lunch for the coyotes so we bough the two large chickens (when small) and thought they were Buff Pullets. They are about 4 months now and very large and act like Roosters. They are not laying and mock fight most of the time. The smaller Buff lays every day. The picture does not show the one in front is only about one half the size of the others and notice the different body shape.

Question is, Are they Buffs and are they hens? Dumb question but by now we are puzzled?????

yes, definitevly buff orpingtons, but not so sure about the gender department. back and center look an auful lot like roos to me.

Thanks, that is what I thought. I have two Buff Roosters for free in North Florida.

Sorry you ended up with some cockerels. You might want to try posting on your state's thread here on BYC and see if you can find any takers for them. Otherwise, there is always Craigslist or the freezer for them!
