I have 18 hens of laying age, and am only getting about 6 eggs per day. I think I may have some of them hiding their eggs but I am not sure where to look. They have learned how to escape the run(it’s not covered and DH doesn’t want to cover it🙄) so I can’t just lock them in for a few days to retrain them. Most of the day they spend foraging in the woods. Any ideas on where I should look, what types of places they would like in the woods, for hidden nests?

everywhere, under anything. behind everything, inside nothing, disguised as that thing.

There is no rhyme or reasons, they can bury them, put them in tree crooks, under leaves, behind a box or wall, just have to look around, and if you want long enough, your nose will lead you to them :p

wow! exactly! look everywere!

If it's in the woods, there is also a chance, she has a nest, ish... is laying eggs somewhere and later at night a coon or something is getting them, so you won't find any of the eggs, because everything else has already found them.
