Are they okay??

Yes. they look like girls. i don't see a curly tail feather. Do they quack? Because boys just do a raspy sound.

You want to be very careful with ducks that they don't injure their legs. They need stepping stones, stairs, or blocks to get into and out of a pool. If they're flopping around, perhaps they lost their balance or tried to get over the side of the container to get out. If you give them a safe pool to get into and out of, they will probably stop trying to get into that small container.

i've been finding those kiddie pools for sale all over lately. They have them at ToysRUs, Rite-Aid, but not at our local Walmart yet. i'm thinking about buying a couple since you can never find them in the winter months. You never want to be without a kiddie pool when you have water fowl.

They do have a safe pool to get out of. It's in the ground also. The container isn't meant to be their pool, and if I put stepping stones or put this one in the ground Sugar my bantie might fall in if she wants water. They use both but the safer one more. In fact I haven't seen them in the container recently. Right now they forage in it if I put grass or treats in it.
We don't use kiddie pools though, we need something hardy that will last. We almost bought a large water trough for horses but it didn't have a drain. So we're still sticking with the truck topper

It will be alot of work but worth it.

It's super deep though, well deeper than it should be. Like 3 feet. Good for the ducks but so much digging.. Ahhh!
Also what plants can I plant that are safe for the ducks and look good in a yard?

If you notice them having a hard time getting out of the "pool", and land like a trout and then have a time getting up, then it is the pool and not the duck(s).

my Pekin and my runner flop in and out of the pool. They remind me of shamu sliding out of the water then back in...I have step stones for them...I think they are just playing with me though...a few times they've gotten side tracked mid slide and twisted to see what was going on...and flopped onto their backs.
It's funny.

Oh they have no trouble getting out of their pool, just the container. The rouens have no problem getting out of it, although being smaller than the crested, they just step right over it. I don't know why they would prefer using the container, it's out in the sun and it's small! Their pool is small too, but bigger than the container and deeper. It's also in the ground for getting in and out easier.
The crested aren't flopping around anymore so it's not an issue, I was just wondering if they were alright.
Ew and the chickens drink out of it too and the ducks poop in it and ew ew ew!
