Are "white" fir shavings safe for ducks?

My husband returned home with three bags of what are called "white" wood shavings because they were out of pine. I looked up online and I guess they're from fir trees. Will these be fine? Thanks in advance.

Only wood I know that can be harmful is cedar

Turpentine. Comes from pine shavings. @CoriM does it say animal bedding

The horse bedding i buy is SPF, Spruce Pine Fir
They assured me its fine, i hope it is

The bag does say Animal Bedding. I opened them yesterday and they seem a bit rougher than the pine shavings I usually get. And they're pinkish. I guess I'll try one bag and see how it goes. I'm trying shavings instead of straw for a bit in the ducks sleeping area. It seems a bit easier to pick up the poopy areas individually.

I use the thicker shaving they do break down smaller as used. I really like shaving over straw much easier to clean out the poop.
