Not at all. You will have to pick one of the heritage varietys if you want to breed them though. The BBW are the fast growing meat birds. If you want something that is longer lived and will repoduce on it's own you will have to get either a midget white, beltsville white or a white holland.

They are good for eggs too. Any turkey is good for meat, just your preference with feather color and size.

I'm not sure the context of your question is coming through. There are two possible ways to interpret your question, I believe:

The first is "are all of the commercially raised turkey which are sold for food through mainstream distribution channels white?" -- The answer to that is "yes" - mass production birds are almost 100% exclusively broadbreasted white. The industry feels that consumers frown upon finding a dark pigmented pin feather, and as almost everyone who has ever prepped a supermarket bird for the oven knows, there are always a few pinfeathers left in the bird.

The other way I could interpret your question is "Is there any purpose for a white turkey other than as food?" -- Sure, many people keep them as pets.
