Are you ever really done?

Ahh, farm life.

Nope, I'm never done. With anything. Having horses ensures I ALWAYS have something to repair/replace. I'm so very pleased with the ease of keeping my new chickens.

I am always planning new ways to build a future coop though.

Love this thread!!

I'm pretty limited with my options since we built in an existing barn with cement walls. But now that the main structure is done the list of improvements to be made is being worked on (poop trays, landing spots for the tree roost, new hinges for the egg door so it opens differently, exhaust fan...) we also have a list of decor items being drawn up to add ("Flown the Coop" sign, which is what we named it, paint for the outside wall where the pop door is, thinking something Tuscany with vines and rustic looking shudders, vines and leaves on the inside wall to decorate the tree roosting). Plus the permanent run still needs to be constructed... but since I don't yet have the money to purchase supplies for the permanent run I started building 'toys' with all my scrap materials. I'm almost done with a sandbox gazebo, then thinking an outside roost, my son is working on a weather vane to put on top of the gazebo... new ideas come to me every once in a while when watching the flock free range in the back yard... like said above, it is a labor of love for our natures vending machines!
