That's really helpful, because I'm just a bit south of you. I'm in south central Iowa, right on the Missouri border.

Great news!

The starting date is not set in stone and will be a little different every year. A Fakebook memory popped up yesterday that four years ago on this date we had gathered 266 eggs and the hens started laying in February. This year only 101 so far and the first egg was laid on March 31. Our peak will be about mid May.
