I just finished building a coop that is movable, and want a 8x16 ft. run. The run will be built in 2 sections that I will bolt together. That way when I move the coop, not routinely, but about once per month in spring through fall. My neighbor who has been helping me build the coop is worried that the run will not stand up on its ownduring Michigan winter's. He says I need to put some posts in the ground. I have looked at many run pictures on this forum. Many seem to not have posts in ground.

So will a run stand on its own that has 1x2 welded wire fence on all sides and top? It is being built from pressure treated 2x4's. Basicially nailed together into 8 ft. sections land then bracketed and screwed in the corners.

Thanks for any input or advice. I have learned Soooo much on this forum and gotten lots of idea's I incorporated into my coop design.

Miine is 12 X 18 and attached to the coop at one end.
It has one board across the top.
Other than that, it's been standing there for a couple of years, through a couple of hurricanes

You may want to run a board or two across the top of yours, and put some angle braces in the corners
