Mozart's Reqiuem - one of my FAVORITES!! Lacrimosa is one of the most haunting movements in the work, but all of it's gorgeous!

The text for the Lacrimosa reads:
Lacrimosa dies illa,
qua resurget ex favilla
judicandus homo reus.
Huic ergo parce, Deus,
pie Jesu Domine,
dona eis requiem. Amen.


It's English translation:
That day of tears and mourning,
when from the ashes shall arise
all humanity to be judged.
Spare us by your mercy, Lord.
Gentle Lord Jesus,
grant them eternal rest. Amen.



You should do yourself the favor of purchasing a copy of the entire Mozart Requiem (I love Robert Shaw's version - GREAT recording)

I've never heard of Evanescense....and was looking for it on Amazon - I'm interested to hear what sound they have.

There is sooooooo much good music out there - have a listen to the Shaw recording of the Durufle Requiem - GORGEOUS!
