I really hate to post this but I need to rehome 3 of my hens. We are having to move. I'm looking for someone who has a swamp cooler for their hens, otherwise mine girls won't make the summer here. I have a swamp cooler that I'm willing to sell. It is an outdoor swamp cooler and we bought it new a few years ago. With the chickens I'll be giving all our organic feed, scratch, treats, grit, straw, bedding, hydro chicken (electrolites) frozen food etc. This also puts me in a bit of fear too. Last person I entrusted to care for a chicken of mine, I fear they killed him. We had a verbal agreement that if for any reason if it didn't work out that we would take him back and find another home. A few days after giving them our chicken he was gone and a story of how he became someone’s house chicken. Not to say this couldn't happen, but when asked to be able to follow up on him we were met with threats. So this is really heavy on my heart. I just need these girls to have a safe home with some type of cooling system and NOT be eaten. If someone needs a cooling system I'll sell my swamp cooler, which has been a massive life saver each summer. I know they are just "chickens", but these are my pets which I have developed a relationship with. If you may know of someone who can help please sent my plea to them. Thank you. Please no hating, I really can't take it at this time. Ester who lays HUGE eggs - black hen, Ruby a brown multiple colored bantam a bit shy but falls asleep when you hold and pet her and Buttercup the yellow hen is a bit shy but loves to be petted daily.

Well, in the chicken world you really have no control over what happens to the birds when they leave your hands. Once that happens it's not your chicken anymore, & gives them the right to eat 'em if they wanted. They are livestock.
It's a sad truth to those who want chickens to live out their lives at a new home.
