hi all new to this group .ive kept birds for 30 years ,from chickens ducks geese pheasant .
to aviary birds and vermin :)

Welcome, after 30 years I don't think there is much anyone can tell you - maybe you can help some of us ignoramuses!!
 
ive always been fascinated with chickens from about 5 year old i would go next door to a Somalia friend of my parents .
he would let me sit out his garden with his birds ,kinda really didn't notice each day there would be one missing .
on Sunday i would see a basket of new birds :) .only looking back i know they was dinner birds and i guess i probably had eaten a few has he gave my mother curry at-least once a week .
at about 11 then my mother gave me birds of my own from the meat man ..but these are my pets :) £1 each not a bad price for live POL chickens back then .
well i hope to be of help ,don't think everyone can know everything .as i was recently confused with a sudden death of one of my own birds and came on here for help ..
posted a few pics and sorted my bird had cancer .. gutted but you have to take losses .
 
How on earth did you pick up it was cancer?, are there signs to look for? Maybe that is what mine mother Hen Flour died from - the vet just kept saying she had a neuro problem - Iam sorry for your loss really its sad to lose a friend.
