Wow! Finally the coop is getting started!
Here's a disclaimer: I know nothing about building but luckily I convinced my dad to start learning some, and I'm incredibly grateful he's caught on and is an interested in it as I am.
Here's a transformation for you- My dad went from insisting we buy a pre-fab coop to insisting that we build the whole thing plus some other projects. He's been working hard and somehow we have some new wooden items that have popped up...
Here's another short disclaimer: We are working from a plan that we bought from etsy which I can't exactly remember right now, (I will add it later,) so I can't really show any official plans along the way, but if anyone thinks they can follow along from some pictures they can be my guest!
Well, we got started April 29th or so and this is the base that we got, which still needs two horizontal strips in the middle for strength-
This is made from pressure treated wood and is 5x6, while the posts are about a foot and will rest on concrete pavers.
Next step: Adding the two horizontal strips for security and a sheet of treated and primed plywood on top so it looks like a rather long and short table.
