Arrgh! Opinion on polls

I like the polls in the other sections, but in Random Ramblings, they need their own section, because I get too distracted. I go to random ramblings because I want to read, and occasionally give a well thought out opinion that doesn' t necessarily fit into what the creator specified.
Also, I thought the polls (ex, relating to hen vs. roo) were supposed to help newer members that don't always know a breed or gender. Newer members aren't going to have GFMs for the most part.

Good point, I wonder if they could make a seperate section for 'random' polls? It seems like most of the first page is polls already.

I guess I just can't see the point.

I kind of like them, they are fun sometimes! Though I wish I could afford to be a GFM and create my own

They are a new toy. The excitement about creating a poll for everything under the sun will eventually die down. If it doesn't or if it continues to be an issue we'll make necessary changes.

At the end of the day, the expectation that the good that comes from this feature outweigh any cons... and we won't be able to fully gauge that until the dust settles and newness factor subsides.
