I do not have an incubator... (I have silkies).
I have two broodies which I must now tag >in order NOT to let them brood again! For some unknown reasonthey get all antsy when the chick hatches and in stomping around from their distress the poor things get smashed before they have a chance to dry off or their eggs gets pushed out and left to die from the cold before they can hatch out.
I DID however manage to rescue one little chickie from this sad state of affairs and she is now is my house.
I plan on introducing her to another mamma as soon as she can be let out on the ground (three weeks minimum).... Thank goodness I have a shoulder heating pad which I have lined a cardboard box with to keep her warm. She is a very sweet thing ....
.... poooooorrr little lonely chickie
