Arrow is my 4 year old hen. She is my first chicken and super sweet. I noticed her laying in places away from the others and she has had pastey poop on the back area I have been cleaning her up everyday, soaking her in warm water But now one of her wings droops and she will not stand all the way up. I checked her for leg mites and egg bound and I do not think its either. I even look in vent and did not feel anything and its not inflamed or anything She seems comfortable just laying around but she does not eat much and does not move around. I put her in a crate separate from others. Any ideas? she does not try to go to coop she was just laying in corners Im sure staying away from the others so she is not picked on. Any ideas would be appreciated.

How does her crop feel? Any abdominal swelling?


Have you tried some really good treats like scrambled egg, canned cat food, tuna, oatmeal fruit etc to get her to eat more?

Welcome to BYC. Have you added any new chickens to your flock recently? Does she lay eggs? Is she molting? What do her poops look like? What are you feeding her? Can you get her drinking some fluids with electrolytes, and feed some water chicken feed and a little egg? Check her crop to see if it is empty first thing in the morning? Look for any signs of lice or mites on her skin under the vent and elsewhere.
