Does anyone know anyone in the Southeast that authenticates arrowheads? We have alot of them that need documentation.

Thanks

Or a local museum.
They usually have someone on staff to look at things like that.

from what i learned from metal detecting. in most states taking anything over onehundred years from the ground or sites is pretty much illegal. I gotta make it to Mingo County soon.

You may want to research the laws concerning indian artifacts. It is illegal to even pick up an arrowhead and there may be other restriction on owning them. Just sayin, hate to see them get confiscated.

These are rocks that my husband picked up as a boy over 60 years ago, and not on burial grounds, just around and in creeks. Places that little boys get dirty, and in trouble for getting into! But that is why we want them authenticated and documentated, in case he decides to sell them, or to leave them to the Grandsons.

I would just proceed with caution and find someone that will not make that phone call to the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
