I was reading somewhere that some feed companies put arsenic inside their feed... Does anyone know how popular this trend is? I know that some people add it in to their feed to make their poultry eat more, but does anyone know if it's a commonly accepted additive for the feed distributors?!

?

I don't Know if it will harm the birds but I do know that it can cause cancer and in minnesota they want under 10 ppm or something like that, so I believe it is banned here, I will see if I can find the article that I was reading the other night on it, i will for sure be checking this post to see what others have to say

I tried calling my local distributor, the one I purchased my feed from, and she said they get their feed from the U.S. (thats narrow) and Then asked her if they put arsenic inside. She rudely said "No" and hung up.

Maybe I'm crazy but if she doesn't even know where it comes from, how could she know if it had arsenic

Yes, they sure do add it as an additive and that is why we went to raising freedom rangers.

If your buying chicken from the store you are probably eating chickens fed with this additive. It's common for the factories to use it so the chickens eat more food.

ETA: Look for this additive on your ingredients list: Roxarsone

Here is one of the links we found on it...
