They are really pretty and were obviously attractive to our local bumbling bumble-bees!And my dad wants to plant them!!!Sometimes I wonder about him...
I've just waded through those. Waist high. They make great soup, but really, it's a bit like poison ivy. Not something I would plant in my garden

Yes 'kinds' Star thistle is among the worse because of its invasive nature. The others are cruel -_- They all go through gloves!

Tell me about it! Thick leather gloves seem to be the only ones that work for nettles. I looked it up and these "clever" plants' little hairs have tips that break off and that then act like a needle. They inject you with histamine, acetylcholine and dopamine (funny that - I never am "happy" when it happens) and all kind of other irritants. When soaked in water, the leaves lose these chemicals and apparently when cooked, it tastes a lot like spinach.
