Artificial light for my coop

Hi there, My girls are just now 20 weeks old have not started laying yet but now the days are getting shorter and I want to encourage them to lay. I have put a 60 watt light in the coop to add some hours of light. Should I add light in the evening or in the morning? Do I need to put food and water in the coop. I keep the food and water out of the coop in the run.

Add it in the morning so they're not in the coop at night and suddenly have the light turn off on them so they're in pitch darkness. They should be fine in the coop without food and water for a few hours after the light turns on so you don't have to put food and water in there if you don't want to.
