Has anyone ever used battery powered lighting for egg production in the Fall and Winter? So that it's not a fire hazard. What brand did you get?

I use natural light from windows. I allow my ladies to stop laying for the season, but those who continue to lay through the winter gives us our winter egg supply.
I don't push their health off a cliff by artificial means. Artificial lighting puts more strain on their systems which reduces their health, & lifespans.

But somebody who does use artificial lights maybe able to help you though.

where are you located?
It gives a better picture as to what is possible.
Where I am I could probably make do with solar powered lights.
Frankly, depending on your setup, you are probably just as well off with a timer.
You really don't want to have the lights on 24/7, just a couple of hours in the AM and PM.
Also, what are your goals: use for yourself and the family, or sales?
current LED lights produce a lot of light without taxing the source too much, nor generating excessive amounts of heat.

I wouldn't recommend it.
Supplemental lighting needs to be consistently timed and also bright enough.
Can you even put a timer on a battery powered light?

There are battery or solar lights made just for chicken coops with timers now. Didn't use to be such a thing, but you have to search online for them. Additional light for chickens is not as detrimental as the pet crowd let's on. I used 4 additional hours for years with no problems. I used a timer & have electric, so it was easier. YMMV
