Hi,

This summer i hatched 2 bantams to add to my meager flock of 2 pekin bantams. Originally they were in my garden however one of the 2 turned out to be a cockerel and the neighbours were complaining about the noise, so i now keep them on my friends land.

However this land is out of the city and i have been struggling to get out to see them and with the winter tempertures as low as -13 some nights i have decided to bring them back home and keep them in my garage to shelter them.

As they are in my garage its going to be dark.

What duration should i leave the light on for every day?

I think the young hen is too young to lay at the moment (16 weeks old), but the other older hens were laying and i don't want to get them started again until winter has passed.

P.s as soon as it warms back up again ( above 0 celsius) they are going to go back up to the farm.

So any help would be much appreciated.
