@SharW75 - Out of curiosity, how long does the horsehair need to be? I have a piece of my other mare's hair I believe still saved though I'd have to see how long it was.

It really depends on what you'd like to have made. A bracelet requires a chunk of hair that's about as big around as your pinkie, and 12" minimum. A necklace requires the same width, but a minimum of 20", and more if the necklace is longer. I prefer to work with tail hair for the braided pieces I make, but I can work with mane hair if that's all you have. Mane hair works just fine for tassels and shorter braids. For the shorter pieces, like tassel earrings, for instance, I only require a few inches, and mane or tail hair is fine. The resin pieces require just a few hairs. My jewelry is so much fun to make because no two pieces are ever quite the same!
