Aloha!! My name is Bea. I started out with 12 chicks in December of 2003. Since then I get a new flock every to years. I bought the book Backyard Chickens right away. I now have 55 hens of various ages and 42 chicks 10 wks old. I have other animals so harmony is a must. The breeds I have bardrock, sexlinks, ameraucana, australorp. I have some new breeds in my chick flock: Silver laced wayandottes, delawares, cukoo marans and welsummers. I just love chickens!

G’Day from down under Bea :frow Welcome!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

Personally, I have found the Topic of the Week articles a great resource and a one stop shop for questions which may have already been discussed within the BYC membership group.

Probably best to check out the Forum Page for the best place/forum on which to post your question, or, if you give us a general idea of the question, we might be able to point you in the right direction.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
