Hi all I am a new chicken keeper in Ontario, Canada and just live it so far. My 13 girls are 12 weeks old I have 4 breeds. Can't wait for eggs. I believe in natural, healthy, hormone, antibiotic free chicken keeping.

Welcome to BYC! You're about half of the way to collecting home-grown cackle berries. Keep us posted on their progress. We will celebrate with you!

So glad you have joined us.

A Baker's dozen, soon you will be getting those eggs.

Yes, what breeds ? I would like to know also

I have 4 leghorns, 4 Rhode Island reds, 3 Plymouth Rocks and 2 Americauna's. Next spring I want to get some Easter Eggers :)

Glad to have you in the flock!
Nice breeds, that will give you lots of wonderful eggs!
I started chicken keeping for healthy hormone/whatnot free eggs. I got three 'pullets' and two were roos. A combo of chicken math and the need for more hens for my boys led to six more chicks...then twelve more...now, at about 60 breeder birds, and more eggs than I can possibly use, I hatch chicks regularly to sell to make some money to buy the feed they eat a ton of.
So beware...next springs Easter Eggers are quite possibly the first step toward chicken math

I'm sure you will enjoy your girls, and have many, many more before long!
