ASAP Help needed!!

I have a hatch going on right now and one of the eggs has pipped and started to zip, but there's a lot of moisture in the egg. I can see the chicks mouth and there's water/liquid in it. He's still alive, but should I help?

Five other chicks have all hatched perfectly healthy, so I dont know if its a humidity problem. There's one other egg in there that's already pipped, and several that havent started yet.

Would it do more harm than good to open the lid at this point?

I have not seen that before, so I do not really know. I do know that if you try to intervene too soon it could hurt the chick. If the chick is still alive I would not try to do anything right now, they have to learn to breath and absorb the yolk. They are pretty wet inside that egg, maybe that is all it is.

Thanks - my gut feeling was just to let it go, so I'll stick with that for right now unless something changes

I had one that I thought might be in trouble too, and had other eggs yet to hatch. I just let it be. It ended up dying, but the others hatched out without problems afterwards. I was very sad, but really feel that if I'd opened it up to help, I would have been compromising the other eggs. Let us know what happens. I'm always learning.

thank you - sadly, this chick didnt make it. we had another one that had a similar issue that i helped out of the shell and she's doing great.
