Ascites, hard mass and maggots?

I found my EE huddled on the floor of the coop last night. Usually, she is at the top of the pecking order. Her belly was swollen (soft and squishy) and she has a firm mass on her left breast. While soaking her in warm water and Epsom salt, I discovered a wound teeming with what looked like maggots which was on her cloaca. I bathed her in dog flea shampoo after the soak. She did pass a watery poop with whiteish goo in it. This morning I found more watery poop with small bits of fecal matter. I've drained most of her ascites and tried to get her to eat. She is not interested at all. At this point, she is very wobbly and sleepy. Should I try antibiotics or draining the firm but slightly squishy mass? I'm not holding my breath on her making it but I would like to try to save her if poss. Any input would be appreciated.

maybe fly strike? If any of the maggots got in her ( you said the wound was near her vent?) that could be bad :( Have you seen any more maggots since you cleaned her up? Maybe try giving her some olive oil via syringe to help flush anything thru?

Sorry about your hen :( Hopefully someone with more info comes along soon.

Thank you for your reply

I've been anxiously waiting for someone to chime in. I will look up fly strike. Her firm mass on the left side is gone. She had some explosive diarrhea today with water and white stuff. Sorry to be gross. She is better but still a bit wobbly. She's been eating a lot so hopefully that's a good sign.
