I had just ashes in or years...until I found out about DE on this board. They seem to like to scratch in them the most. Since I use the deep litter methis in my coop they tend to mix the ashes themselves with the bedding etc. A few birds do go in the ash box and dust...they have never cmone to harm rom it. Terri O

I guess it's up to you. I'm just trying to help you out by tellin' you the way i do it and what has been working for me. With my method, my girls have never had a bug on them in 50yrs at least. I have never had to treat my girls for any kind of fleas, mites, lice, or anything like that.

I'm hopeing they'll dust bath in them today but ya never know!!!
