my RRI have what looks like ashy or dried out combs???( It's unbearably SUPPER HOT here!!) Sun burned? heat stress? they seam happy and good tempered, even in the heat of day 95*+. Are almost 4 months old, 15 weeks. Ready to start laying? IDK?? I don't know if it maters but, there vents are yellowish? thought I had herd that they should be "Pink?" but I can't remember???

8'x8' run, but I take 1 of walls off and let them free range during day time.Lots of fresh greens and stuff from my garden carrot green, zucchini, lettuce heads, tomatoes, etc. So I think vitamin whys they should be OK. right???? IDK?

have 8 RRI
8 bantys
3 black Jersey Giants
1 BBW Turkey

Thanks for any info!

It is probably so hot that their combs have dulled, caused by chickens not laying. A pink vent means they are getting ready to lay as well.

They are probably healthy and just not ready to lay yet because of the heat.

I hope this helps. Best of luck!

Make sure they have plenty of cool water to drink and a shady spot to hang out in.
