Everything looks so delicious!

Love the huge thick cutting board under that hunk of meat. When I was putting myself thru university, I worked the summers cleaning salmon and we use to have wooden boards for cutting on...they tried the plastic cutting boards but found testing for bacteria kept on the board to be higher than wooden boards...I guess if we use our scrapers to take off the cut marks, no place for bacteria to hide. Now that said, my spouse made me the most awesome butcher block (huge hunk of maple wood as cutting surface), but I will not cut meat of any kind on the wood. Have several plastic cutting boards for when I carve up meat. Makes me ponder, that I am not taking my own advice on what sanitizes up best...plastic versus wood. Plastic being you bleach it, wood being you use a scraper to remove layers--anyone else adore old cutting blocks that are dished out from years of use...screams FOOD...food was prepared here. LOL

I thought at butcher stores (I don't go to them, obviously), one could get portions carved off a carcass?

Question for Benny - I am learning, so please bare with my ignorance and share with me your diet requirements. Since you are not suppose mix dairy with meats...I drink my coffee with cream and honey. For breakfast, we would have meats, eggs, potato, buttered bread (toast), and a cuppa coffee that was containing dairy (cream). That would not fit with your guidelines--even cooking with butter would not either for meats (correct?)! How long after consuming dairy do you have to wait (time) before you are allowed to have meat? I am completely in awe you do this...never knew that.

I see that in a kosher kitchen, you keep completely separate utensils for dairy and for meat. Double the dishes...ha ha ha...wonderful excuse to have MORE cookware...LOL

My butcher is a wonderful one, he gets every day 4 steers! I FIND THER ENNY CUT I WANT!
They prepare them in front of your eyes, it is amazing the meat you find there, I am going alwayes on the grass fed Angus, excellent!
And dear Tara
Between milk, yogurt and other soft milk products you can wash your mouth and then eat meat.
Between hard cheese and meat, or between meat and milk, the standard is 3 hours, the strict waite 6.
But belive me it is very complicated thing, that have been bilt over 2500 years of studying and religious rulling!

Top Tips for Good Digestion

  • Eat in order of digestibility.
  • You should eat the easiest to digest foods first in each meal and slowly move towards the more complex. Think of a highway, if the slowest cars are in front they'll hold up the faster cars behind them, causing a traffic jam. The same goes for your food. Eat those fastest to digest first and save the tougher to digest foods for the second half of your meal.

Here are the time sequences for different food groups:
    • Water & Juices: 20-30 minutes.
    • Fruits, Smoothies, Soups: 30-45 minutes.
    • Vegetables: 30-45 minutes.
    • Beans, Grains, Starches: 2-3 hours.
    • Meat, Fish, Poultry: 3 or more hours.

    • Drink warm or hot liquids with your meal.

Whole bunch of GOOD for you reasons. I marvel at the sensibility and only took, what 2,500 years of work. Good gack!

You are welcome!
Indeed a lot of ouer rules have a health reasons behind them!
The strict religious have to wash their hand by religious low, first thing they wake up, after entering the bathroom, and befor and afterr eating wich every time there is a special blessing. Vermins, insects, bugs, rodent are a big problem if find in food, the preparing of food is very very strict, every one have to dip in water at list onec a week and that they HAVE to do even in the middle ages in Europe while the non jewish population didn't take bats for months or more, because the hardship of getting water, there is a connection between the persecution of my people and the strict hygiene lowes. In the 14th century while the plague was galloping across the continent, killing milions, jewish people where less infected by it because they were living separated by low but more because they strict religious, and couldn't lett rats and other vermins to live in there houses, because they could impure the food and make it non eatebal. So they garded their houses and food much more=less rodent=less flees= less Yersinia pestis =
Less bubonic plauge! So the logic conclusion is that they survived more than others? Yes? NO! their non jewish neighbors accused them that they Poisoned wells, and caused the disease and that is the reason why they haven't been affected by it, because they new from what well no to drink! So they persecute them and killed a lot ! Stupid people! :th
