The higher you hang them, the bigger the window will look. If they're long enough, hang them almost to the ceiling, just under or at the bottom edge of the molding.

Thanks. I was leaning that way but a lifetime of mostly living in buildings that were falling apart has me a bit nervous about screwing stuff directly into the walls! I think this place will be alright though.

QUESTION

I've just moved and my new place has this wooden edging around the windows. (Please excuse the post-move unpacking chaos!)

I want to put some curtains up. I have some white curtain tracks like this becuase that was what the local reuse/recycle place had.

Should I put the tracks up ON or ABOVE the wood?

(Removing the wood, or getting different curtain poles, are not alternatives I'm interested in exploring)
