I always thought “Moony would be fun to have a beer with.” Nope. Ok. Moony likes “well done” steak. Ok. To each their own. No pizza? One food at a time? Ok. I have a kid that eats like that. But THIS!? No BBQ?

@The Moonshiner you didn’t tell me the extent of the awesomeness of leghorns. Not only is Mooney people friendly, great with the hens, he gets along perfectly with my primary rooster, but he’s also a great protector. He saved a little hen from a hawk this morning. The hen is recovering with minor injuries, and Mooney is recovering in the house for a minute. He too has some minor injuries. The hawk will NOT be recovering. I just wanted to brag on my boy.
P.s isn’t his comb a bit large??? He’s only 5 months old.

Hawks DO suck! I was gardening when it happened, outside with my chickens. It happened so fast! At first I didn’t know what it was, I THOUGHT it was one of my Americauna hens. It was a big brown blur. In the seconds it took me to get to them, Mooney was all over the hawk. I scooped up the hen, (I thought she was dead) and my 2 other roosters joined the party. I really hate the hawk died buuut, predators can’t just kill my chickens. This is the second time that thing tried for one of my hens. Mooney will be eating good today! A hero’s meal!
