I’m a person of hearing and i find ASL very cool. I am not a expert so of course won’t be “educating” others (As doing so unexperienced as a person of hearing is very disrespectful to the deaf community) but i would love to chat with hard of hearing, deaf people, or people who are learning ASL too just for fun. (Or to communicate with a deaf friend/family member easily)
So with that being said, i hope this doesn’t come off as rude, because this isn’t a education group, but i wanted to see if any other people on BYC are also interested in learning more about ASL to more easily communicate with the deaf/hoh community!
Currently, i am learning Backyard boy by Claire Rosinkranz in ASL. I’m going to be preforming it on stage when i’m finished, again, not for educational purposes, but going on the stage is to show off skills and diversity, and to learn new things, right or wrong. I think it will be a lot of fun and it helps improve my knowledge of ASL learning a song (because it helps me remember the signs more easily and how to properly use the vocab)
