How old is your hen? How long has she been sick? Ascites is a fatal condition. It is seen in heart failure, liver disease, and also seen in reproductive disorders and cancer. My little 9 year old mille fleur hen recently developed ascites. I drained her twice about 5 days apart, but she sadly died about 3 days later.

How old is she and what exactly do you feed your flock?

She’s about 4 or 5 years old. We mix these together.
