Hi all i can get photos tomarrow but i am at a loss my 6 week old Astrolorps I can not say it there for i can not spell it LOL . has white feathers on 2 of them is this um Normal or is it a Mix ?

There shouldnt be any white on a grown up bird but if they are only 6 weeks they might go away.. pictures will help

Australorps, (Australian/ Orpingtons~ if that helps with the pronounciation and spelling) have white on their wings and tails while young. Mine are 16 weeks old and are a gorgreous jet black with a green velvet sheen, but when they were younger they had the white. I absolutely love them- they are such characters.

My black Australorp pullet about 5 months old had a couple of white wing feathers when she was younger.Hers are now gone. I also have 2 black Dutch? bantams, a roo and a pullet ~ 3 months old, and they both have a white feather in each of their wings.

My australorp pullet had lots of white on her as a baby and now is solid black, so pretty!
Its been 3 weeks since I posted my query and everyone is turning black all over They are beautiful.

Very gentle for the most part till the Lt Sussex's come around then they tend to move them back into the brooder house if they can. For some reason they don't mix with each other even tho they all were hatched out at the same time and were in the same brooder pens till they were let down on ground. The Sussex's stay with each other and the Aussies stay with themselves The Sussexs like the Aussie's but the Aussie's seem not to want to associate with them. Go away get out of here!

Oh well Sunday they each go into their own coops and pens. It might be cause the Sussex's have a "watch dog " a little quniea hen that was raised with them and refuses to go with the other qunieas outside roaming and when she sees something going on with the Aussie's she goes over and gives what for to the Aussie.

I've got 13 black astrolorps and 2 of them have a white spot on their tail I wonder are they a mix I even got them at Murray Mcmurray hatchery
