Just saw a question about a rooster being an Australorp …. Mine looks almost identical. Was told he was .

Looks like it to me but I'm a newbie. I have a Blue Australorp with those same warm brown eyes. He's a wonderful rooster. Very protective and gentle (to us and the hens). He doesn't attack them when he mates, unlike my Old English Game Rooster and Rhode Island Reds roosters. This morning he also defended a pullet when the other roosters try to force-mate her. He didn't try to mate her, just protected her. He seems to understand when the hens aren't ready yet.

Hoping to keep him around for awhile. Australorps have good egg laying genetics too.

Australorps are supposed to have red earlobes. I think it might be a Black Bresse.

He is not an Australorp (ear color) or a White Faced Spanish (face color) or a black Bresse (leg color).

He might be a Minorca.

Where did he come from?
