I have had my 12 hens since they were hatched and they are laying
, some are soft, bloody. I know that this is normal, however I'm affraid that they will find out that they taste great. I have had chickens years ago and they learned this so I'd race to get my eggs, before the city banded farm animals. Now they allow fowl and this has thrilled me
I would like to know how to keep them from learning this especially now with soft shells they would and can figure this out. Any Suggestions??? HELP! I have been giving them oyster shells and cuttle bones, Have put ceramic eggs in the nest so they will learn were to go other than in the lot! This worked. I spend time, talk with my hens all along we feel very close! they sit on my lap. This is funny and I hope that you all get a kick out of this. They think I'm the Rooster
When I'm around them or sitting in the lot they now asume the position when I pet them!!!! One will want me to love them, then the line begins!!! I just enjoy them and they return the love! It's just great and fun!!!! Years ago I had to work, I'm disabled from a spinal hemmorage. Now I have time to have fun with the simple things in life!
The only thing I miss now is being able to work and do the things I use to do myself. In a way they have helped enjoy life again
